Install, languages, models, license, and what GraphoOS publishes today.
What is GraphoOS?+
GraphoOS is a native IDE in Rust with a Floem interface: editor, LSP, Git, DAP debugger, terminal, SSH/WSL remote, WASI plugins and the AiloOS assistant. The current version is 0.5.0-beta.2.
How do I install it?+
On Apple Silicon macOS: download the DMG from Downloads and drag it to Applications. On Linux and Windows there is no package: build from source with Rust 1.98+ (on Windows, also Visual Studio Build Tools). .deb/.rpm/MSI packages sit in phase 3 of the roadmap.
Which systems does it run on?+
The editor runs on macOS, Linux and Windows. Today the only published binary is the macOS DMG (Apple Silicon). Linux and Windows are built on the machine. No nightly is published.
How does LSP work?+
Each language is a WASI plugin in the registry. The plugin starts its server (rust-analyzer, pyright, gopls, clangd, typescript-language-server…) with the permissions in its volt.toml. There are 11 first-party plugins. How to write yours: plugin guide.
Which models does the assistant use?+
Three paths. EmpoorioLM locally with ailoos serve on port 8080. AndromedaLM in the cloud at api.ailoos.com/api/andromeda/v1. Any OpenAI-compatible API via ai.custom-endpoint and a key in the keychain or GRAPHOOS_AI_API_KEY. MCP is tools, not a model. Panel: ⌘⇧A.
Is it open source?+
Yes. Apache-2.0. You can use, modify and redistribute with the license notices. The repository is on GitHub as Empoorio/graphoos; the public clone opens when the history is ready. Until then the code is licensed the same way, and this site does not pretend an anonymous clone.
What does the license allow?+
Apache License 2.0: personal, academic and commercial use, modification and redistribution while keeping notices. GraphoOS and its logos identify this project. Full text on the license page.
Can I customize it?+
GraphoOS Dark and GraphoOS Light themes, GraphoOS Colors icons, default or Vim keymap (core.modal), and TOML settings (editor.font-size, ui.scale). You can also import settings, shortcuts and a colour theme from VS Code. Detail on Customization and settings.
Where are the shortcuts?+
The editor palette and the shortcut guide. On this site, ⌘K (or Ctrl+K) jumps to docs and pages.
